Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team in Japan. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales and managing our customer base for our cutting-edge CAE software, specifically tailored to the automotive market. Your expertise in the industry and strong customer relationship management skills will be vital in ensuring the growth and success of our business.

Main responsibilities

  • Identify and target potential customers in the automotive industry, including automotive manufacturers, suppliers, and research organizations.

  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies to generate new leads and expand our customer base.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including decision-makers and influencers, to promote our CAE software solutions.

  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the features and benefits of our software, addressing the specific needs and challenges of potential customers.

  • Collaborate with the technical team to provide technical expertise and support during the sales process.

  • Proactively engage with existing customers to ensure their satisfaction, identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling, and manage renewal business.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market dynamics to effectively position our software and maintain a competitive edge.

  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to enhance brand visibility and build a strong professional network.

  • Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and other relevant documentation to track sales performance and provide insights to the management team.


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field. A technical background in automotive engineering or CAE software is highly desirable.

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management roles, preferably within the automotive industry.

  • Strong understanding of CAE software and its applications in the automotive sector. Familiarity with competitor tools such as AVL-Excite, AVL-Fire, ANSYS, Gamma technologies GT-Suite, Siemens Amesim, and Star-CCM+ is a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with customers and stakeholders at various levels.

  • Proactive and self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset. Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize tasks to meet sales targets.

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills to close deals and secure new business opportunities.

  • Fluency in both spoken and written English and Japanese. Additional languages are a plus.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally for client meetings and industry events.
